. In the paper the structural behaviour of the steel frames protected with Shear-Link type passive dissipators and aluminium dissipators is examined too. It has been put in evidence that these passive dissipation systems can significantly reduce the response of the structures subjected to near-fault motions. The aim of the present study is to acquire quantitative knowledge on the near-field ground motion effects on frame buildings and on their damage.

Abstract
