Abstract

Designed in years long gone by and to promote development as growth, the Bari plan is based on the idea of the city-region and the political and socio-economic capacity of the city to guide regional development. It allows us both to examine how the urban planning culture of the time declined the themes of metropolization and its spatial organization, and to understand the ways in which it has been interpreted in the various urban planning seasons, spanning almost half a century of urban history.
