This must be the place

The frequent attendance of places is fed by the images that are given back to us and which settle in our memory. They do not remain dormant in a figurative archive but try to resist the oblivion of the stereotyped image, desiring an immediate transfiguration. A process of research and reformulation of the instruments is thus implemented to reinterpret the landscape, in order to establish a dialogical relationship with the project. From the interaction between that existing and the desire for architecture, new forms can be generated in the superficial virtuality of the image that find a reflexion or reflective element, able to regenerate itself as a new figurative patrimony. The drawing and the photomontage are nothing more than the attempt to absorb the surroundings, both as the main and subordinate element, in a new slightly ironic look, able to bend, approaching, common meanings and consolidated viewpoints. Graphic designs trying to emphasise what is invisible in places, extracting new possible visions of the living. Wrapping paper is the element that envelops, reveals and preserves the landscape in its immeasurable dimension, but that once captured in machines and in geometric grids to be viewed, becomes the graft of the project whose innocent persisting gaze, stretching towards the landscape, becomes the sense of contemporary architecture.

La frequentazione dei luoghi è alimentata dalle immagini che ci restituiscono e si sedimentano nella nostra memoria. Non rimangono sopite in un archivio figurato ma cercano di resistere all’oblio dell’immagine stereotipata bramando una trasfigurazione immediata. Si attua così un processo di ricerca e riformulazione degli strumenti per rileggere il paesaggio, così da stabilire un rapporto dialogico con il progetto. Dall’interazione tra esistente e desiderio di architettura si possono generare nuove forme che trovano nella virtualità superficiale dell’immagine un elemento riflesso o riflettente, in grado di rigenerarsi come un nuovo patrimonio figurativo. Il disegno e il fotomontaggio non sono altro che il tentativo di assorbire il circostante, sia come elemento principale che subalterno, in un nuovo sguardo, un po’ ironico, in grado di piegare, accostando, significati comuni e punti di vista consolidati. Elaborazioni grafiche che tentano di rendere evidente l’invisibile dei luoghi, estraendone possibili nuove visioni dell’abitare. La carta da pacchi è l’elemento che avvolge, svela e custodisce il paesaggio nella sua dimensione incommensurabile, ma che una volta catturato in macchine per guardare e in griglie geometriche diventa l’innesto del progetto il cui inconsapevole permanere dello sguardo, proteso verso il paesaggio, diventa il senso di un’architettura contemporanea.
