The aim of this paper is to extend to several models of the synchronous machines, with a single damper winding in each axis, a procedure that permits determining the parameters by means of tests, removing all the simplifying assumptions that are at the base of classic theory. A sudden three-phase short-circuit test and the frequency response test are examined by pointing out the necessary elements for the complete identification of the examined model. Some numerical examples are given in synthesis
