Sustainable freight transport via co-modality is gaining more importance in the South East Europe (SEE) region. However, there are not adequate studies that analyze the status of the SEE transport corridors as well as assess and benchmark their performance. This paper reviews the assessment of infrastructure, operational, environmental, market and ICT aspects of the three important Pan-European transport corridors namely IV, V and VII. Subsequently these corridors are benchmarked with 4 “corridors of excellence” from North and South Europe in terms of service efficiency as well as environmental sustainability.

Abstract
Sustainable freight transport via co-modality is gaining more importance in the South East Europe (SEE) region. However, there are not adequate studies that analyze the status of the SEE transport corridors as well as assess and benchmark their performance. This paper reviews the assessment of infrastructure, operational, environmental, market and ICT aspects of the three important Pan-European transport corridors namely IV, V and VII. Subsequently these corridors are benchmarked with 4 “corridors of excellence” from North and South Europe in terms of service efficiency as well as environmental sustainability.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
