A one-year pilot plant investigation (140 m3/h) has been made at EAAP Sinni potabilization plant using H2O2/UV as an alternative to ClO2 in the predisinfection of unfiltered water. The two methods have been compared in routine situation, with clean almost uncontaminated feed water, as well as under more severe conditions with badly contaminated muddy river water. In all conditions H2O2/UV proved to be a quite satisfying disinfectant capable to prevent the formation of undesired disinfection by-products and bacterial regrowth in the disinfected water.

Abstract
A one-year pilot plant investigation (140 m3/h) has been made at EAAP Sinni potabilization plant using H2O2/UV as an alternative to ClO2 in the predisinfection of unfiltered water. The two methods have been compared in routine situation, with clean almost uncontaminated feed water, as well as under more severe conditions with badly contaminated muddy river water. In all conditions H2O2/UV proved to be a quite satisfying disinfectant capable to prevent the formation of undesired disinfection by-products and bacterial regrowth in the disinfected water.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
