We prove existence of standing wave solutions for a nonlinear Schrodinger equation on R-3 under the influence of an external magnetic field B. In particular we deal with the physically meaningful case of a constant magnetic field B=(0,0,b) having source in the potential A(x)=(b/2)(-x(2),x(1),0) corresponding to the Lorentz gauge.
